At least 10 people have died due to the storm. Hurricane Milton hit Siesta Beach, about 112 kilometers south of Tampa, on Wednesday night as a category three hurricane. Due to the storm, power supply to more than 3 million homes in Florida was disrupted and there was huge damage. Water supply has also been affected due to the storm. Pipe lines have broken at many places, which has increased the problems of the people.

Governor Ron DeSantis said this is not the worst-case scenario. Tampa may not have seen the catastrophic storm that was feared, but there is still a major emergency in the area. According to the governor, the storm caused up to 18 inches (45 centimeters) of rain in some parts of the area. Officials said the danger was far from over and storm surge warnings were issued for much of Florida’s east-central coast and as far north as Georgia.
