Singapore: An Indian in Singapore has brought shame to the entire country by his actions. The Indian man has brought disgrace to the entire country by defecating at the gate of a mall. The incident took place at ‘The Shops’ mall located at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, where the court has imposed a fine of 400 Singaporean dollars on an Indian construction worker who defecated at the entrance. This incident happened on 30 October last year. According to a report published in the newspaper ‘Today’, construction worker Ramu Chinnarasa (37) has pleaded guilty under the Environmental Public Health (Public Cleanliness) Regulations.
In fact, in October last year, a picture of the incident was made public on Facebook, which received more than 1500 likes in about two days, 1700 comments and was shared 4,700 times. According to the news published in the newspaper, before this Ramu had drunk three bottles of alcohol and gambled at the Marina Bay Sands Casino. He came out of the casino at around five in the morning. He wanted to go to the toilet but due to being very drunk, he could not go to the toilet and he defecated at the entrance of the mall itself.
He defecated at the gate and slept there
According to the news, after defecating at the mall gate, he slept on a stone bench outside Marina Bay Sands. Then at around 11 am, he returned to his dormitory in Kranji. Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Adele Tai said that a security officer of Marina Bay Sands saw the video of Ramu on social media on the same day and lodged a report with the police. According to Today, during the hearing of the case, District Judge Christopher Go Eng Chiang told Ramu, “Don’t get so drunk that such incidents happen. If such an incident happens again, a bigger fine will be imposed. I hope this will not happen again. (Language)
