Islamabad: Iran has once again made a statement on the deteriorating situation between India and Pakistan. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has appealed to India and Pakistan to exercise restraint. After the terrorist attack in Araghchi Pahalgam, the two countries have arrived in Islamabad on a one -day visit to talk with the Pakistani leadership amidst the increased tussle in the relationship between the two countries. Araghchi is also scheduled to visit India on Thursday.
‘Things are important for Iran’
After reaching Islamabad, Araghchi said, “The situation in the region is very important for Iran and we insist on reducing stress. We call all sides to restraint and prevent the situation from further deterioration.” He said, “We will try to reduce tension in the area.”
What did Araghchi say?
According to the news of Iran’s news agency ‘Meher News’, Araghchi said, “Both India and Pakistan are the friendly countries of Iran. Of course, Pakistan is our neighboring country with our friendly relations but we were interested in getting information about our friends’ stance in Pakistan before visiting India.”
What did Sharif say to Araghchi?
According to Iran’s Irana news agency report, Prime Minister Sharif told Araghchi that Pakistan is committed to strengthening cooperation with Iran towards peace and stability in the region. Pakistani Defense Minister Khwaja Asif and External Affairs Minister Dar were also present during Araghchi’s meeting with the Prime Minister. (Language)
