Seoul: North Korea fired several ballistic missiles on Thursday towards its eastern marine region. South Korea’s army has given information about this. South Korea’s ‘Joint Chief of Staff’ reported that several missiles were fired between 8.10 am to 9:10 am from the area around the Eastern port city of Wonson, the highest distance of about 800 km of the most. However, it was not clear about how many missiles were fired.

South Korean army spokesman Lee Sung June told the media that the aim of North Korea’s launch was probably to test the weapons that he plans to export. North Korea is supplying military equipment to Russia in the war against Ukraine and also sending its soldiers. Joint Chief said that South Korean and American intelligence officials had already realized the preparations for the launch and kept an eye on them after launch of missiles.

Japan opposed

Japan’s Defense Minister General Nakatani told reporters that no North Korean missile reached the special economic zone of Japan and there was no damage to ships or aircraft in the area. Nakatani said that the government of Japan has ‘strong opposition and strong condemnation’ of these launch through the North Korean Embassy in Beijing.

How many times the missile was fired this year

Earlier, several ballistic missiles were fired by North Korea on March 10, a few hours after the US and South Korean troops started the annual joint military exercise, but since then it was the first known launch activity. It is said that this was the sixth incident of missile being fired this year.
