Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan and India should sit on the table of conversation like peaceful neighbors and resolve their pending issues including Kashmir. The country celebrated ‘Yom-e-Tashakkur’ (thanksgiving day) in honor of its army.
Addressing the special ‘Yom-e-Tashkakur’ program organized at the Pakistan memorial, Shahbaz said that India and Pakistan fought three wars and did not achieve anything.
Shahbaz said, “The lesson is that both countries like peaceful neighbors should sit and resolve all pending issues including Jammu and Kashmir. Without the solution to these issues, we cannot bring peace to this part of the world. ”
India has made it clear that it will only talk with Pakistan on the return of Pakistan -occupied Kashmir and the issue of terrorism.
Shahbaz said, “If there is peace, then we can also cooperate in the fight against terrorism.” The program was the chief guest in the event, in which the top military officers also attended.
On May 10, it was agreed to end the military conflict between India and Pakistan after a four -day drone and missile attacks from across the border.
According to Radio Pakistan, the day started with 31 cannon salutes and 21 cannon salutes in Islamabad, along with special prayers. Rallies were also organized across the country to express solidarity towards the armed forces.
Shahbaz hoisted the national flag at the Prime Minister’s residence in Islamabad in connection with ‘Yom-e-Tashakkur (Gratitude Day)’. In the context of the recent military confrontation with India, he said, “Pakistan is a peace loving country, but it has the right to give appropriate answers in its defense.”
Shahbaz said that Pakistan’s armed forces responded to India “properly and effectively” and wrote a “golden chapter” in the military history of the country.
