Peshawar: At least three people, including a child, were killed and 11 others injured in three separate terror incidents in Pakistan’s restive northwest on Wednesday. Police said that at 1 am in the night, terrorists attacked a police post in Darban area of Dera Ismail Khan district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in which a police constable and a laborer were killed and two others were injured.

The second incident took place in Azam Warsak area of South Waziristan district, where a child was killed and four others were injured when a bomb planted in a motorcycle exploded, police said. According to police, another incident took place in Mamakhel area of Bannu district, where at least five police personnel were injured when a roadside bomb exploded.

What do the statistics say?
Earlier, according to an official report released on Monday, security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa killed 270 terrorists in 2024, including big terrorists with bounties. According to the police department report released by the Provincial Information Directorate, the provincial police arrested 802 suspects during the operation. The report said 149 police officers were killed and 232 injured in the line of duty this year. (Language)
