Pakistan Deputy PM Ishaq Dar meeting with Afghan leaders.
Islamabad: As part of an attempt to improve the stressful relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met Afghanistan’s acting Prime Minister Mulla Muhammad Hasan Akhund in Kabul on Saturday. During this time, the two leaders discussed the major issues of mutual interests. This one -day visit to Afghanistan of Dar has taken place at a time when Pakistan has intensified its action against illegal Afghan refugees. Pakistan has made it clear that the only way for Afghan citizens to stay here is to enter the visa legally.
The journey was being planned for several months
Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesman said in a press release, “Both sides exchanged views on major issues of mutual interest including security, trade and transit cooperation and discussed the methods of increasing contact between people.” According to the government news agency ‘Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), the two sides agreed to repeat their commitment to continuous dialogue and continue high-level exchange to further strengthen the relationship between the two countries. Dar’s visit was planned for several months, but due to tension associated with Pakistan’s security concerns, it was repeatedly postponed.
Both of them are continuously deteriorating since 2021

Dar also held delegation level talks with Afghanistan’s acting Foreign Minister Aamir Khan Mottaki. He went to Kabul at Mutaki’s invitation. Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry posted on the social media platform x, “Various topics related to bilateral relations were discussed, which emphasized the need to form a strategy to enhance cooperation in various fields of mutual interest, including security, trade, transit, contact and people.”
Dar will also meet Mulla Abdul Ghani Baradar
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry said, “The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the paramount importance of all relevant issues, especially safety and resolving issues related to border management, to fully realize the capacity of regional trade and contact.” The Ministry of External Affairs also stated that the two sides confirmed their commitment to promote mutually profitable relations and agreed to the importance of high -level dialogue. According to the ministry, Dar will also meet the Acting Deputy Prime Minister of Economic Affairs Mulla Abdul Ghani Baradar.
