Political turmoil begins again in Bangladesh

Bangladesh is going through a period of tension these days. Recently, after the removal of Sheikh Hasina from the post, a lot of non-violence was seen against Hindus in Bangladesh. Meanwhile, political tensions flared up again in Bangladesh on Wednesday, with a prominent student group demanding the resignation of the country’s nominal President Mohammad Shahabuddin. In fact, it is being said that some such comments were made by him, which seem to raise questions regarding the resignation of former President Sheikh Hasina in the month of August. The interim government is going to hold a cabinet meeting on Thursday to discuss the issue.

Political turmoil begins again in Bangladesh

The student group known as ‘Anti-Discrimination Student Movement’ has set a two-day deadline for President Mohammad Shahabuddin to step down. Hundreds of protesters rallied in the capital Dhaka on Tuesday, while hundreds more attempted to storm the Bangabhavan, the presidential palace. The new political turmoil began when Shahabuddin told a Bengali-language newspaper earlier this week that he had not seen Hasina’s resignation letter as she fled to India amid the student-led rebellion in August. Were. After Hasina stepped down on August 5, an interim government led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus took over power in Bangladesh and formed the government.

Student organization demands resignation of President

Shahabuddin, in his interview to Manab Zameen daily newspaper, said that he had only heard about Hasina’s resignation but had not seen the actual letter of resignation. A statement that enraged the Yunus-led government and student activists, prompting them to demand his resignation. Earlier, in his first address to the nation on August 5, Shahabuddin had said that Hasina had submitted her resignation letter to the President and he had received it. According to the Constitution of Bangladesh, the elected Prime Minister has to submit his resignation in writing to the President.
