Kiev: A fierce drone war has begun between Russia and Ukraine’s talks of ceasefire. Both countries are carrying out big drone attacks on each other. Russia and Ukraine carried out a large-scale air strikes on each other on Saturday night and the two sides reported to see more than 100 enemy drones in their respective areas. The attack took place by Russian President Vladimir Putin less than 24 hours after the US Ambassador to discuss the description of the 30 -day ceasefire in a war with Ukraine from US Ambassador Steve Witchoff.
Volgograd Regional Governor Andrei Bicharov has confirmed that the fall of a drone caused a fire near the Lukoil oil refinery in the city’s KrasnoMERESCI district. However, he did not give detailed information. According to local media, flights at nearby airports were temporarily stopped. However, no casualties were reported. Since Russia started a full -scale invasion of Ukraine about three years ago, the Volgograd Refinery has been targeted several times by Kiev’s forces, the most recently attacked with a drone on 15 February.
Russia killed 126 drones of Ukraine
The Russian Ministry of Defense said it had destroyed 126 drones of Ukraine, out of which 64 were demolished in the Volgograd region. Officials said the drone was also destroyed in Voronish, Belgorod, Bricensk, Rostov and Kursk areas. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Air Force said on Saturday that Russia carried out 178 drone attacks on the country throughout the night of Friday-Saturday. He said that these bombings were done with fake drones made to confuse Shahid type of attacker and to confuse air security. About 130 of these drones were hit, while 38 more drones deviated from their targets. (AP)
