Ukraine has theoretically accepted the 30-day full ceasefire scheme proposed by the US and European countries. But Putin has rejected it by adding rigorous and far -reaching conditions to this proposal, which has reduced the possibility of success of talks.
What is Russia-Ukraine War background
Significantly, the war between Russia and Ukraine has been going on since February 2022, in which thousands of citizens and soldiers have lost their lives, and millions of people have been displaced. Most of the talks so far have been held online or through third party. This is the first time that the two countries are going to talk directly face to face. This dialogue to be held in Istanbul may not immediately lead to the ceasefire or the end of war, but it is being seen as a diplomatic initiative, which can lay the foundation of a permanent solution in the future (AP)
