Sambalpur: A shocking case has come to light in Burla, Odisha. Here, 85 needles have been removed from the head of a girl so far. The matter came to light when the girl was admitted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR). On Saturday, Director of Surgery Bhabagrahi Rath said that “So far, 77 needles have been removed from the girl’s head in two surgeries. Fortunately, there has been no bone injury from the needles, but there are soft tissue injuries on her head.” Let us tell you that even before admitting her to VIMSAR, 8 needles were removed.

The victim has been kept under observation

Director of Surgery Bhabagrahi Rath said that the patient is currently under observation. Also, tests will be done for other problems for which she went to the quack. He said that it would be hasty to assume that the problems were psychological and stressed the need for a complete diagnosis. At present, the girl referred to VIMSAR from Bolangir due to pain and risk of infection is out of danger, but she will be kept under post-operation care for about a week.

CT scan revealed

It is being told that on Thursday, Reshma Behera (19), a resident of Ichgaon under Sindhikela police limits of Bolangir, complained of severe headache. After this, she was admitted to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital. The CT scan done here revealed the presence of several needles in her head. Despite initially removing eight needles here, her condition did not improve. After this, the girl was referred to VIMSAR, where 77 more needles were removed in two times.

The accused was arrested

It is also being said that Reshna was often ill since the death of her mother four years ago. Meanwhile, she came in contact with a person who practiced black magic. The family came to know about the presence of needles recently when Reshna complained of pain. At the same time, the police say that the accused quack has been arrested. Along with this, Kantabanji police is also investigating whether the accused had pricked needles to other victims as well. (input language)
