New Delhi. A court in Maharashtra’s Nashik district has summoned senior Congress leader and MP Rahul Gandhi in connection with his alleged objectionable remarks against Hindutva ideologue Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. Nashik Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Deepali Parimal Kaduskar issued a notice to Rahul Gandhi on September 27 and ordered him to appear in the court.
What is said in the notice?
The notice mentioned that the statement made by Rahul Gandhi against a patriotic person prima facie appears to be defamatory. The court has directed him to appear before the court in person or through his legal representative on the next hearing date. However, the next hearing date in this case has not been decided yet.

Complainant’s allegations
The complainant in this case, who is the director of a non-governmental organization (NGO), has claimed that he had witnessed a press conference and a speech by Rahul Gandhi in November 2022, in which Gandhi allegedly made objectionable remarks against Veer Savarkar. Statements were given.
The complainant alleged that Rahul Gandhi deliberately tried to tarnish the reputation of Veer Savarkar through his speeches and press statements. He also said that the Congress leader’s statements attempt to discredit the great work done by Savarkar in the pre-independence period and his contribution to the society.
Accusations against Rahul Gandhi
The complainant also said that Rahul Gandhi deliberately made false statements against Veer Savarkar at the press conference held in Hingoli and on other occasions, thereby damaging his image. A defamation case has been filed against Rahul Gandhi in the court regarding this matter, in which he has been called to present his side in the court.
