In view of the United States imposing 50 percent import duty on Indian goods, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said that steps should be taken to improve relations with the United States, as there is money creation, India has a big business with America and 8 lakh students go abroad every year.
Talking to reporters, Akhilesh Yadav said, “Relations with America should be better. America is a major center of capital flow. There is money creation. One should be careful with such a country, whose eyes are on our land and which is occupying our market. India should try to strengthen its economy to face such a country. “
He said, “We cannot spoil relations with America because business with America is very big. 8 lakh Indian students go abroad. Many people of Gujarat live in America. We hope that the people of Gujarat working in high positions in America will not let our relations be spoiled.”
The United States President Donald Trump has accused India of buying Russian oil and funding the Ukraine War, and has imposed an effective 50 percent import duty from 27 August. President Donald Trump on Wednesday warned that the US has not yet implemented the “Phase-2” and “Phase-3” charges on countries continuing business relations with Russia. He described the secondary sanctions imposed on India as direct action against Russia, as “this would cause Russia a loss of hundreds of billion dollars.”
He said this when he was asked why he has not taken any action against Russia since assuming the oval office in January this year. He described India as the biggest buyer of Russian oil after China and indicated that if India continues energy imports from Moscow, it could have to face more punishment.
