A huge fire broke out in a cargo ship going from Mundra in Gujarat to Sri Lanka. High flames of fire are visible in the sea. Blasts are also taking place after the fire broke out in the ship. On receiving the information, the Indian Coast Guard immediately sent the ICG ship to the place in the sea where the fire broke out. ICG Dornier aircraft was sent for aerial assessment.

It is being told that the ship was carrying dangerous goods (IMDG). Due to this, explosions are taking place in the front part of the ship. The ICG ship has reached the area and is trying to extinguish the fire despite bad weather and rough seas.
No casualties reported
It is being told that the crew members who were scared due to the fire have been assured of their safety by the ICG ship. Apart from this, two ICG ships have been dispatched from Goa to extinguish the fire. At present, there is no report of any casualty due to the fire. Let us tell you that this fire broke out in a container cargo merchant ship about 102 nautical miles southwest of Goa.
