According to the doctor, Chandipura virus was named Chandipura because its first outbreak happened in 1964-65 in Chandipura village in Nagpur, Maharashtra. It was a virus isolated in that one place. This virus with combined symptoms of flu and Japanese encephalitis infects children. The special thing is that since then, no case of this virus has been found in any country of the world. But, from Maharashtra, it also spread to Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan. Currently, its cases are being found in other states including Rajasthan.

Infection is seen in rainy season

It is believed that this infection is usually seen only during the rainy season. This infectious disease is caused by fly and mosquito bites. This infection is found in children aged 9 months to 14 years. The infection of this virus is most commonly seen in rural areas.

Keep an eye on these symptoms

According to experts, if a child shows primary symptoms like high fever, vomiting, diarrhea, headache and cramps, then consult a doctor immediately. The brain of a child affected by this disease swells. After this, the child’s condition deteriorates. It is believed that children are dying in this condition. However, the severity of the infection is being ascertained.
