Lahore: Police in Pakistan have achieved a major success. Punjab’s Counter Terrorism Department arrested Amin ul Haq, a prominent member of Al Qaeda, on Friday. Haq is said to be a close associate of slain terrorist Osama bin Laden. A spokesperson of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab Police said that a significant success has been achieved in the fight against terrorism as the department, in collaboration with various intelligence agencies, arrested Haq during a planned operation in Punjab province.

A dreadful conspiracy was being hatched

In a statement, a police spokesperson said that Haque was a close associate of Osama bin Laden since 1996 and had allegedly planned sabotage activities across the province. According to the police, Haque wanted to target important establishments and personalities. The police spokesperson said that the CTD performed well and managed to trace and arrest Aminul Haque.

The CTD has registered a case against the arrested terrorist and he has been taken to an undisclosed location for interrogation. Haq’s name has been included in the United Nations’ list of international terrorists.
