Anti Paper Leak Bill Passed In Bihar: Anti Paper Leak Bill passed by voice vote in Bihar, opposition walked out of the assembly, know what are the provisions in this new law

New Delhi. To stop the incidents of leaking of competitive exam paper in Bihar, the Anti Paper Leak Bill (Bihar Public Examination Unfair Means Prevention Bill 2024) was passed by voice vote from the Assembly today. However, in the meantime, the opposition walked out of the House. Under the new law, a person found guilty of leaking the exam paper can face up to 10 years in jail and a fine of up to Rs 1 crore. All crimes under this law will be cognizable and non-bailable. This means that after the implementation of this new law, the accused involved in the paper leak will not be able to get bail. At the same time, the leak will be investigated by an officer of DSP rank.

This law is comprehensive, which applies to all concerned parties including students, teachers and others. The law that was made in 1981 had a provision of only 6 months’ imprisonment, but now under the new law, those involved in the paper will be sentenced to three to five years and fined up to 10 lakhs. There is a provision of 5 to 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of up to 1 crore rupees for those committing organized crime. Bihar government minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary said that it was very important to make a strict law in the paper leak case. The Bihar government has also made a law on the basis of the law made by the central government. Today there is a need to restore credibility and transparency in competitive examinations.

Chaudhary said that whoever does such a mistake, plays with the future of meritorious students. We hope that this will put an end to the incidents of paper leak and the future of meritorious youth will be safe and bright. On the opposition’s walkout, he said that the opposition’s walkout during the making of such an important law shows that they want to protect the criminals. This is their intention and the public is seeing this.
