What is genital TB?
Let us tell you that when TB infection spreads from the fallopian tube to the uterus, it is called genital TB. This condition can affect the genitals, ovaries and cervix of women. It is also called pelvic TB. Genital TB in men hinders the sperm from reaching the semen, affecting their fertility.
Symptoms of Genital TB
The symptoms of genital TB are often not common, due to which it is not easily recognized. But even then, if you are not able to conceive even after trying without any precaution for 12 months and some symptoms appear, then it could be genital TB. Some of its symptoms include weight loss, fatigue and fever, abnormally high bleeding during menstruation, abnormal menstruation, etc. On the other hand, men may have pain or lump in the lower abdomen, vomiting, loss of appetite, weight loss and dark colored urine.
Interrupted pregnancy
Genital TB causes problems in pregnancy, whether it is a man or a woman who has genital TB. In such a situation, it is important that patients with infertility, chronic pelvic pain and menstrual problems should also be tested for TB.
