Okinawa Autotech, one of the popular electric two-wheeler companies, has taken a big decision amid the incidents of fire in electric scooters in the country. The company has recalled 3215 units of its Praise Pro scooters. Okinawa said that the company will immediately fix any defects in the scooter’s battery. It is part of Okinawa’s Health Checkup Camps.
“The battery will be checked for loose connectors or any damage and repaired free of charge at an Okinawa authorized dealership,” the company said in a statement. The electric two wheeler manufacturer is working closely with dealer partners to ensure that there is no inconvenience in repairs. For this, the company itself is contacting the customers.” The company has a network of about 500 dealers across the country.

Fire in 40 scooters simultaneously
Incidents of fire have been coming to the fore in the last few months. Recently around 40 Electric Vehicles (EVs) of Jitendra Electric caught fire. The accident happened when the e-scooter was being taken from the factory in a container.

Earlier, incidents of fire in scooters of Ola and Pure EV were also reported. On March 28, a fire broke out in an Ola S1 electric scooter in Pune. In the video, the Midnight Blue color Ola S1 Pro could be seen in flames. At the same time, the video of Pure EV scooter catching fire in Chennai had gone viral.
