Mumbai. Vicky Kaushal, Tripti Dimri and Amy Virk starrer comedy film ‘Bad News’ is ruling the box office. The film has collected Rs 30 crore by the first weekend. In the first two days, ‘Bad News’ earned Rs 18.55 crore in India. The film had collected Rs 8.3 crore on the opening day, while it earned Rs 10.25 crore on the second day. According to early estimates of SacNilk, Sunday’s collection saw a slight increase, with the film earning around Rs 11 crore.

According to the report, ‘Bad News’ recorded 28.78% occupancy in Hindi speaking areas on Sunday, with the evening shows getting the maximum viewership. Vicky Kaushal and Tripti Dimri’s film is performing well internationally as well. It has earned around $1.1 million at the North American box office.

‘Bad News’ has performed well in other countries apart from North America. The film is expected to collect more than Rs 40 crore at the global box office. This film starring Vicky Kaushal-Tripti Dimri and Amy Virk has also surpassed Akshay Kumar’s Sarfiro.

Akshay Kumar and Radhika Madan starrer ‘Sirfirra’ has not been able to earn Rs 25 crore even till the second weekend. According to the report, the film has collected around Rs 21.22 crore at the Indian box office so far. Talking about ‘Bad News’, it is directed by Anand Tiwari, which is a comedy inspired by true events.

‘Bad News’ focuses on heteropaternal superfecundation, a reproductive phenomenon in which twins have the same mother but different biological fathers. The film has just a week to make its mark at the box office as the much-awaited Marvel superhero film ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ will be released in theaters next week.
