New Delhi. The government of neighboring country Bangladesh is angry with a statement by West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee. Bangladesh’s Sheikh Hasina government has sent a letter to the Indian government calling Mamata Banerjee’s statement misleading and said that terrorists can take advantage of such announcements.
Bangladesh has said that the West Bengal CM has talked about giving shelter to the refugees coming from there and this can provoke many people, especially terrorists and miscreants, to take advantage. Bangladesh has said that efforts are on to normalize the situation there. The Bangladesh government has said in a letter sent to India that the reference given by CM Mamata Banerjee to the United Nations resolution is not valid there. In fact, on July 21, at the Martyrs’ Day rally in Kolkata, Mamata Banerjee had said that she cannot say anything about Bangladesh, because it is a different country and the central government will speak on this subject, but if helpless people knock on the door of Bengal, we will give them shelter. Mamata Banerjee had also said that it is also a resolution of the United Nations that neighbors will respect refugees.
Bangladesh Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud had already objected to this statement of Mamta Banerjee. Hasan Mahmud had said on Tuesday that he has full respect for the West Bengal CM and also has a close relationship with her. After this, the Bangladesh Foreign Minister had said that his government wants to clarify that there is a lot of scope for confusion in Mamta Banerjee’s comment and hence a letter has been sent to the Indian government. Let us tell you that students protested fiercely against reservation in Bangladesh. There was violence in this movement and more than 130 people also lost their lives. At present, the situation is under control there.
