The Nitish Kumar government of Bihar is going to present a bill for paper leak prevention law in the state assembly today. Let us tell you that recently many people including engineering and medical students have been arrested in the case of leaking NEET paper in Bihar.

The Nitish Kumar government of Bihar has named this bill as Bihar Public Examination (Unfair Means Prevention) Bill 2024. After the passage of this bill, those who leak papers in Bihar are sure to face trouble. A provision of 3 to 10 years of punishment has been made in the paper leak prevention bill of the Bihar government. Along with this, the way will also be opened to impose a fine of Rs 10 lakh to 1 crore on the culprits of paper leak. After the bill of Bihar’s paper leak prevention law is passed, if any candidate is involved in this malpractice, then he will have to face a sentence of 3 to 5 years and a fine of Rs 10 lakh. At the same time, if the role of the institutions is in the paper leak, then there is a provision of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of up to 1 crore for their officials.

For the past few years, the issue of paper leak has been prevalent across the country. Especially in the competitive examinations of the states of North India, there have been many incidents of paper leak. Due to the lack of strict laws against paper leakers, they soon come out of jail and again engage in this malpractice. The opposition has also made the incidents of paper leak in BJP and NDA ruled states a big issue. In view of this, the Modi government had passed the law to prevent paper leak in its second term, which was implemented after the irregularities in NEET and UGC-NET examinations. The Yogi Adityanath government of UP is also preparing to bring a law to prevent paper leak in the next session of the assembly.
