Bill on Reservation in Private Sector: Will reservation be applicable in private sector as well? Know who introduced the bill in Lok Sabha, Bheem Army chief Chandrashekhar presents Bill on Reservation in Private Sector in Lok Sabha

New Delhi. After the government, will reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and OBCs be implemented in the private sector as well? This is an important question because a bill has been presented in the Lok Sabha regarding this. This bill has not been brought by the Modi government. This bill for reservation in the private sector has been presented by Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar. Chandrashekhar, while presenting the bill in the Lok Sabha on Friday, said that the number of government jobs has decreased. In such a situation, there is a need to provide reservation in the private sector.

This bill regarding reservation for SC, ST and OBC in the private sector can also be called Chandrashekhar’s masterstroke. The reason for this is that reservation is a very sensitive issue. Governments in states have been formed and fallen on this issue. There is no party which can raise voice against reservation. The issue of reservation was also raised in the recent Lok Sabha elections. The opposition had mobilized and said that if BJP forms the government, it will end the reservation given under the Constitution. As a result, BJP had to lose many seats in UP and Bihar. In such a situation, it does not seem possible to raise voice of protest against the bill brought by Chandrashekhar.

The matter of implementing reservation in the private sector is not new. Its demand has been raised for a long time. The special thing is that the bill for reservation in the private sector presented by Chandrashekhar has also created problems for BJP, Samajwadi Party and BSP in UP. The problem in front of all three is that if they do not support the bill, they will be called anti-reservation. At present, it is believed that Chandrashekhar’s bill can be sent to the Select Committee of the Lok Sabha. It will be discussed there and a decision will be taken whether a law for reservation in the private sector should be made or not. The special thing is that reservation in government jobs has been written in the Constitution, but nothing has been written about the private sector. Obviously, the Constitution will have to be amended to provide reservation in the private sector. It is also worth noting here that recently the Congress government of Karnataka had announced to bring a bill to provide reservation to the people of the state in the private sector, but withdrew the step after strong opposition from industrialists.
