The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested 43 people under Operation Chakra 3 on charges of cyber fraud. These people were cheating foreign nationals by running a call center from Gurugram. The CBI carried out the operation with the help of agencies of many countries like FBI and Interpol. The gang that has been busted through Operation Chakra 3 used to cheat people in different corners of the world on the instructions of a Chinese company.

The CBI had registered a case in this matter on 22 July 2024. After this, raids were conducted at 7 locations in Delhi and Gurugram. The call center was being run from DLF Cyber ​​City in Gurugram. 130 computer hard disks, 65 mobile phones and 5 laptops have been recovered from here.

How did they cheat?

The thugs of the international gang used to send a pop up on people’s computers and ask them to download suspicious software. After this, they used to get money transferred in the name of restoring their system. A large number of victims’ information, documents, call recordings and transcripts have been recovered from the thugs. The joint investigation of CBI, Interpol and FBI is still going on.

Chinese company used to do fraud

The Chinese company used to get the gang members to cheat citizens from different countries. Cyber ​​financial crimes were committed in different countries and the money from the fraud was sent to Hong Kong. The name of this company is Innonet technology (opc) pvt limited. Investigation has revealed that cyber financial crimes were channelized from different countries and sent to Hong Kong.
