If the hands are dirty, it can cause bacterial or viral infection. At the same time, when the contact lens is removed from the eyes and kept in the cover, it is also necessary to wash the hands properly. Apart from all this, it is also mandatory to clean the contact lens and the cover in which the contact lens is kept. Contact lens and its cover should be cleaned with solution once a week. Keep in mind that if you open the solution bottle, then use this bottle within a month or else the solution can also get infected. Only the doctor treating Jasmine Bhasin will be able to tell the exact reason why she got the infection, but more or less these could be the reasons due to which Jasmine got the infection in her eyes.
What to do if you get infected
If after wearing contact lenses, there is a burning sensation, stinging, pain or redness in the eyes, then it should be understood that the infection has occurred due to the contact lenses. Dr. Richa Pyare said that never wash your hair with contact lenses on nor take a shower with lenses on. Also, never put tap water in your eyes with contact lenses on, otherwise the cornea can get completely damaged and this can lead to complete loss of eyesight. Tap water contains a dangerous bacteria which damages the cornea due to contact lenses. One should also not sleep wearing contact lenses. They should be removed before sleeping. If you fall asleep wearing contact lenses, then there will be no supply of oxygen to the cornea due to which the cornea can get damaged.
What to do while wearing contact lenses
If you are wearing contact lenses, always clean your hands thoroughly before and after using them. Clean your hands while putting them in the cover and also while removing them from the cover. It is important to clean the contact lens and cover once a week. If you want to clean your eyes after wearing contact lenses, then lubricant eye drops are available for this. Clean it with plain lubricant eye drops. Remember not to buy this eye drop over the counter from a medicine shop. Get it prescribed by a doctor because many times you will get steroid mixed medicine from the medicine shop, which will make the eye wounds worse. Clean the cover of the contact lens with soap water once a week. Along with this, many solutions are available in the market to clean the contact lens, with which the lens is cleaned. The bottle of this solution should be used within a month. Otherwise, it can also cause infection. This can cause bacterial or viral infection in the contact lens.
