Gumla. As soon as the rainy season arrives in Gumla, the incidence of snake bites starts increasing. This year too, many cases of snake bites are being seen in the district. Many people have lost their lives due to snake bites and many are in critical condition. Most of the population here lives in villages. The incidence of snake bites is more in villages. The district administration is also making efforts to deal with this.

Civil Surgeon Gumla Dr. Raju Kachhap said that no one should lose their life due to snake bite. For this, anti-snake venom medicine has been made available in abundance in all the CHC centers of the district. At the same time, an appeal is made to the residents of the district that if any person is bitten by a snake, then without any delay, immediately take them to the nearest CHC center so that the patient’s life can be saved.

Anti snake venom is available in the health centers and sub-centers of the district
A total of 100 anti snake venom medicines are available in Referral Hospital Gumla. Similarly, 15 anti snake venom medicines are available in Public Health Center Bharno, 72 in Public Health Center Bishunpur, 100 in Public Health Center Chainpur, 20 in Public Health Center Dumri, 50 in Public Health Center Ghaghra, 50 in Public Health Center Kamdara, 20 in Public Health Center Palkot, 20 in Public Health Center Raidih, 150 in Referral Hospital Sisai and 135 anti snake venom medicines are available in District Hospital.

Civil Surgeon Gumla Dr. Raju Kachhap said that an appeal is made to the residents of the entire district that if anyone is bitten by a snake or if you see a snake bite incident around you, then you should take the patient to any of your nearest health centers. Get them treated. Do not fall into the trap of superstitions like exorcism, witchcraft, etc. This wastes the valuable time of the patient. It becomes difficult to save the life of the patient if you delay too much. So avoid superstitions. Make sure to bring the patient to the hospital on time.
