ED tightens its grip on JDU MLA Radhacharan Seth, property worth crores seized


The Enforcement Directorate has tightened its grip against the Janata Dal-U Legislative Council member Radhacharan Seth in Bihar. The ED has taken strict action against Radhacharan Seth and his business partner Ashok Gupta and seized their property worth crores of rupees. The seized property includes MSD School in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh and Tur Continental Resort in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. The ED’s appellate authority issued the order to seize the property after hearing all the cases.

Radhacharan Seth was arrested by ED in September last year. Seth is accused of earning illegal property worth more than Rs 77 crore. The Enforcement Directorate had registered a case of money laundering against M/s Broadson Commodities Pvt. Ltd. While investigating the case, the investigating agency reached Radhacharan Seth. Radhacharan Seth’s son Kanhaiya Prasad was also arrested by ED in the money laundering case.

Radhacharan Seth is accused of illegally acquiring property worth crores of rupees through illegal sand trading and tax evasion etc.

It is said that before entering politics, Radhacharan Seth used to run a sweet shop outside the railway station in Ara, Bihar. While selling jalebi with his father, Radhacharan Seth gradually started doing business in mining, hotels, restaurants and schools and colleges.
