New Delhi. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Wednesday said that the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2021 will be held as per its scheduled schedule from Friday. Keeping in view the restrictions being imposed by the Governments to check the spread of COVID-19, the Commission has urged the States to ensure that there is no inconvenience to the candidates and the examination authorities in their movement, especially from the containment zones. to the people.
The UPSC said states have been told that e-admit cards of candidates and identity cards of examination authorities can be used as movement passes, if required. In a statement, the commission said, “After careful review of the prevailing situation arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Commission has decided to conduct the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2021 as per schedule i.e. on January 7, 8, 9, 15 and 16.” , 2022 has been decided to be held.
The Civil Services Examination is conducted every year in three phases – preliminary, main and interview – for the selection of officers, including officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others.
The commission said that the states have been requested to keep public transport operational at least a day before the commencement of the examination – from January 6 to January 9 and from January 14 to January 16 – to ensure So that the movement of candidates and examination officials can be done smoothly.
It has been said in the statement that the guidelines of the Commission have been provided to all the competent district authorities and examination center supervisors to conduct the examination in this period of epidemic. The guidelines also asked the examination authorities and candidates to carry their sanitizers in transparent bottles.
