Vacancy in DU Colleges: The Delhi Teachers Association (DTA), a teacher organization of the Aam Aadmi Party, has demanded to remove advertisements to fill non-academic posts in colleges. The organization’s president Hansraj Suman says that the extension of the deadline till 31 March 2023 to fill the approved non-academic posts in the colleges of Delhi University under the OBC expansion scheme by the UGC is a commendable step. He said that the UGC has expressed regret in the context of not filling the seats under the OBC extension scheme from the university and affiliated colleges within the time limit.
On the other hand, University Grants Commission (UGC) Under Secretary V. Talreja has issued a circular to the Registrar of Delhi University and the principals of colleges and instructed them to extend the deadline for filling the non-academic posts sanctioned under the OBC expansion scheme. He said that in the 28 colleges of Delhi Government, maximum number of OBC quota posts are vacant. Governing body was not formed in these colleges from March 2019 to March 2020, due to which these colleges did not issue advertisements to fill the posts of OBC quota. He has requested the Chairman of the Governing Body of Delhi Government Colleges to direct the Principals to prepare the roster register and get it passed to the University Administration and take out the advertisement.
