JEE Main 2022: The application process for the country’s biggest engineering entrance exam, JEE Main, which is being conducted twice this year in the month of April and May, has started. More than 40 thousand students have applied for this exam on the very first day itself. The last date for application has been kept till 31st March. Candidates who have not applied yet, should complete their application by visiting the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.
JEE MAIN 2022: Application will be in four phasesCareer Counseling Expert Amit Ahuja told that the process of JEE Main online application will be completed in four phases. In the first step, the student will have to login to the JEE Main website by entering his/her name, parent’s name, gender, date of birth, identity card number, mobile number, e-mail id, own address and password. After this the student will get JEE Main Application Number.
In the second phase, the student will have to fill all the information of nationality, state code of eligibility, category, examination center and class 10th and 12th. Fill the State Code of Eligibility of the same state from where they have passed the 12th examination and the students giving the improvement should fill the state in this column from where they had passed the 12th examination for the first time. After this, in the third phase, the student will have to upload his own photograph and signature, scanned documents related to the category.
After the above three steps, in the fourth stage, the student will have to pay the examination fee through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, Paytm etc. The examination fee has been fixed at Rs 650 for general EWS and OBC category, Rs 325 for SC-ST and physically handicapped and girl students of all categories. By paying the examination fee, students will be able to take a print out of the page. Students must keep four copies of this page with them.
JEE MAIN 2022: Declaration will have to be given if class documents are not available after January 1
Ahuja said that in comparison to last year, this year, documents related to reservation category have also been asked from the students during the application so that the students should not be worried about it. Such students of OBC and EWS who do not have reservation category certificate after January 1, they will have to scan and upload the declaration format given in the information bulletin during the application in the column of certificate. By which the students will get time till they produce the category certificate document on seat allotment in counselling.
JEE MAIN 2022: Will have to apply again for May session
Expert Ahuja said that students will have to re-apply for the second session of JEE-Main, for which they will be given time from April 8 to May 3. Applications were made for all the sessions of the year together.
JEE MAIN 2022: Changes in Marking Scheme
Ahuja said that there are two sections in each subject in JEE Main exam. Section A consists of 20 questions MCQ questions from Physics, Chemistry and Maths. In Section B, 10 questions from each subject will be Numeric Value Based Questions. In Section B, students will have to attempt any 5 questions out of 10 in each subject. Thus, out of 90 questions, 75 questions have to be attempted by the students. There will be 4 marks for correct answer and 1 mark for wrong answer. This year negative marking system will be applicable for each question. Whereas till last year there was no negative marking on numerical value based questions. In such a situation, students now have to solve these questions very carefully.
