Pune. Most schools in Maharashtra’s Pune and its adjoining Chimpri Chinchwad city reopened for students of classes I to VII on Thursday. According to officials, enthusiasm and happiness was seen among the students as the schools reopened after a long time.
Schools and other educational institutions were closed indefinitely for students in Maharashtra including other parts of the country in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier, in view of the Omicron nature of the corona virus, the decision to open schools for students of classes 1 to 7 was postponed from the first week of December.
The order to reopen the schools was issued by the Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar in Pune. Pune district headmaster’s association president Harishchandra Gaikwad told PTI, “Most schools have reopened in the district today. A large number of students reached the school on the first day and they looked very happy and cheerful.
