UP Scholarship: In the academic session 2021-22 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, a large number of beneficiaries have increased in the scheme of scholarship and fee reimbursement being run by the Directorate of Social Welfare and Minorities Welfare for poor and needy students.
PK Tripathi, Joint Director, Social Welfare Department, said that in this academic session, 20 lakh backward classes studying in classes and vocational courses, about 12 lakh students of scheduled castes, scholarship and fees have been reimbursed in this academic session. Facility was given, whereas about six lakh students of general category were given scholarship and fee reimbursement.
In the last academic session, about seven lakh scheduled caste students and three lakh general category students have been given scholarship and fee reimbursement. He said that forty percent of the total scholarship and fee reimbursement sanctioned on the applications of scheduled caste students is being sent directly to the bank accounts of the applicants from the budget provided by the state government, while the remaining sixty percent amount is being talked about in all such cases. The details of the beneficiary students are being sent to the central government and from there also the money is coming into the beneficiary’s bank accounts.
He told that this time a single nodal account has been opened on the instructions of the Central Government, its benefit will be that if the transaction of any beneficiary student fails, then the amount of scholarship and fee reimbursement will come back to the single nodal account and then again. will be given to that beneficiary student.
Ajit Pratap Singh, in-charge of scholarship, Directorate of Backward Classes Welfare, said that this time, out of OBC students studying in classes and vocational courses above class 10, this time around 20 lakh applicants are being given scholarship and fee reimbursement. Last year this number was around 13 lakh.
