Wheat crop damage due to rise in temperature
The sudden increase in temperature a week ago has affected not only the common man. Rather, it is also likely to affect the yield of wheat by 10 to 15 percent at the time of sowing. The wheat crop is harvested by the end of March. Ram Gopal Sharma, Joint Secretary, Agriculture Department gave information about this. According to him, due to the increase in temperature last week, the process of natural ripening of wheat crop has been hampered. Due to the sudden rise in temperature, the crops matured prematurely. So now is the time to cut them. A departmental official said that around 27 lakh metric tonnes was estimated to be produced this year. But due to increase in temperature, production may decrease by 3 to 5 lakh metric tonnes. He said that the last time such a sudden increase in temperature was seen was in the year 2017. Climate change is the main reason behind this.
