Know about IAS Kumar Anurag
Anurag was a student of English medium till class VIII. He studied in a small English medium school in Katihar district of Bihar. Anurag’s parents later got him admitted in an English medium school. Studying from English to English medium was a big deal for Anurag, after which he adjusted well in school. He was an average student during his early education days. He worked hard for his class 10th examination and secured 90 per cent marks.
However, Anurag suffered a setback when he failed the class 12th pre-board examination as he did not pass in maths. He took it as a challenge and this time prepared with all his heart to score 90% in class 12th board.

After 12th, Kumar Anurag went to Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi and studied economics. He did his graduation from SRCC in 2014 and did his post graduation in 2016 from Delhi School of Economics.

Let us tell you, Kumar Anurag prepared for UPSC Civil Services during his post-graduation days and secured 677th rank in his first attempt in UPSC CSE in 2017.
In the same year, he also prepared for the Indian Economics Service exam, in which he secured 7th rank.
He decided to quit the job of IES as his aim was always for Civil Services. So he gave himself another chance and secured AIR 48 in UPSC Civil Services Exam 2018.
Anurag’s Civil Services preparation included regular online blog reading, paper reading, following UPSC toppers strategies, etc.
Anurag had chosen Economics as his optional subject which gave him the right balance of marks required to score good marks in UPSC Mains. He understood very well the importance of high score in CSE Mains and wanted not to depend too much on the interview.
