Sanjita Mohapatra was born in a small town Sundergarh and then moved to Rourkela with her family. Rourkela was where he completed his education. Sanjita Mohapatra was always a good student during her school days. Since childhood, he loved to read and write.
Sanjita completed her mechanical engineering from IIT Kanpur, after which she decided to start preparing for UPSC. She appeared for UPSC thrice and failed in all three. She could not clear the prelims exam. After failing in her three attempts, Sanjita joined a normal government job. Sanjita was appointed as Trainee (Technical) in SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant in 2013 and worked as Assistant Management till 2018.

After failing in UPSC exam thrice, she continued her preparation, but sometimes she felt that she could not continue her preparation while working.
During this time Sanjita got married. She was married in 2017 to Biswaranjan Mundari, manager in RBI. After marriage, she left her work and came to Mumbai. Like many other women, her life went through many changes after her marriage, but Sanjita and her husband had a dream to become an IAS officer. After marriage, he again thought of trying in UPSC.
Her in-laws were extremely sporting and motivated her to prepare again for the Civil Services Examination. Sanjita did not succeed in her fourth attempt but she cleared the prelims this time. Still he did not lose hope and this time started his preparation with full zeal. Then for the fifth time has appeared in the UPSC exam. This time he cleared all the three stages of UPSC, Prelims, Mains and Interview. Sanjita secured AIR 10 in UPSC CSE 2019 and broke into the top-10 list of toppers.
