Today is the 36th birthday of singer Ankit Tiwari, who made everyone crazy by spreading the magic of his voice in the film ‘Aashiqui 2’. Ankit Tiwari, who entered the world of music in 2010 with Habib Faisal’s film ‘Do Dooni Chaar’, became famous all over the world in just four years. However, at the peak of his career i.e. in 2014, an incident happened to him, which broke him from inside. The impact of this incident was such that Ankit Tiwari did not sing any song after 2015. Let’s know the story of this musician…
Dreamed of becoming a singer since childhood
Ankit Tiwari was born on March 6, 1986 in the city of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. His parents used to run a music troupe named “Raju Suman and Party” in Kanpur. Due to the musical atmosphere at home, Ankit wanted to do something in the world of music since childhood. Seeing his inclination towards music, his parents decided to train Ankit professionally. He took classical music training from Vinod Kumar Dwivedi before taking lessons in piano, dhrupad and western vocals. After working as a production head for a radio station, Ankit moved to Mumbai with his brother Ankur Tiwari in December 2007.
Such bright luck…
After coming to Mumbai, Ankit Tiwari met Pradeep Sarkar. Pradeep Sarkar was working on his upcoming film at that time. However, due to some reason his film was shelved and Sarkar gave Ankit Tiwari a chance to work on the jingle. Along with the jingle, Ankit Tiwari composed the music for the TV programme. However, Ankit got a chance to sing songs for films when he met Habib Faisal. Ankit Tiwari sang back-to-back songs like ‘Aashiqui 2’, ‘Teri Galliyan’, ‘Sun Raha Hai Na Tu’.
One incident ruined my career
Ankit Tiwari, who rose to fame with ‘Aashiqui 2’, was at the peak of his career in 2014. But on 9 May 2014, Ankit Tiwari’s girlfriend accused the musician of rape and the police arrested him. At the same time, his brother was accused of threatening to kill him. The case on both the brothers continued and after three years i.e. in 2017, both Ankit Tiwari and his brother were acquitted of all charges by the Mumbai Sessions Court due to lack of evidence.
