The Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Tuesday issued a bailable warrant against Shilpa Shetty’s mother Sunanda Shetty in the cheating case. Warrant has been issued for Sunanda Shetty not appearing before the court. On Monday, Shilpa Shetty and Shamita Shetty got relief from the sessions court in Mumbai in the same case. The court on Monday stayed the proceedings of the Metropolitan Magistrate Court. However, no relief was given to his mother Sunanda. On Tuesday, Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate RR Khan issued a bailable warrant against Sunanda.

In fact, a businessman had lodged a complaint of fraud against the three at the Juhu police station. The businessman claimed that Shilpa’s late father Surendra Shetty had taken the loan in 2015. He was to repay it in January 2017 but the family refused to pay the money. He filed a complaint against all three of them through the firm M/s Y&A Legal for cheating of 21 lakhs. The complainant had not filed any document in the court that Shilpa and Shamita are also partners in the firm and they intended to cheat. Because of this, both got relief from the court.

Next hearing on March 25
During the hearing, the Sessions Court said, “There is no doubt that there are many factual and legal aspects in this which require judicial investigation. Therefore, the court stays the proceedings against Shilpa Shetty and Shamita Shetty. With this, the court said that the magistrate court can continue the proceedings against Sunanda. The next hearing in this case will be on March 25.
