Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram also reacted to Mevani’s bail. He tweeted and wrote, “The court of Barpeta, Assam has granted bail to Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani. The court observed that no sensible person would misbehave with a woman police officer in the presence of two male police officers.”
On Chidambaram’s tweet, a user named Dhurendra wrote, “As a lawyer yourself, you must be aware that insulting modesty does not have to be physical, especially when it comes to women. It can be verbal and Jignesh Mevani is known for harsh words. If you remember his anger towards our Prime Minister, his words were quite harsh.”
