Actress Mahima Choudhary, who shot to fame with her film ‘Pardes’, on Thursday revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer and is now doing well after treatment. Choudhary posted a seven-minute long video clip on her Instagram account, in which she is seen telling Anupam Kher about being diagnosed with breast cancer and its treatment.
When Chaudhary was undergoing treatment for cancer, Kher offered her to act in the film The Signature. Choudhary said, “Surprisingly, when my hair was falling out, I was getting a lot of calls for web series. And I was thinking, oh my god, why am I getting calls now, when I don’t even have hair, then I didn’t tell them about it. And I couldn’t tell you that I can’t do your film.
You started telling me about the role and then I said that I will talk to you in the night. I got emotional at that time. I did not feel any symptoms, recalled Choudhary. I was getting my regular check-up done and the person who examined me said that I should get it checked by oncologist Dr. Mandar.
The actress said that the initial test did not confirm cancer, but when the cells were biopsied, it was found that a small part of the cells had become cancerous. These cells were subsequently removed. At the end of the video, she said, “I am fine and have fully recovered.”
