Actually, on Sunday evening, Kajol and Rani Mukerji reached an award show in Mumbai. There on the stage, both narrated the funny story of this short dress from the set of ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’. In Karan Johar’s debut film, both Rani and Kajol were opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Salman Khan had a cameo in the film. Well, during the program, Kajol teasingly asked Rani Mukherjee that she still wonders how Rani danced in that short dress in the song ‘Koi Mil Gaya’. Kajol said that when she saw Rani in that dress for the first time, she was stunned that how she was able to walk in such a short and tight dress.
Rani said- I said ‘Jai Maa Dugga’ and wore the dress
Kajol and Rani Mukerji are also cousins in real life. Responding to Kajol’s talk, Rani says, ‘I would like to answer this very honestly. At that time I was just going with the flow. I said ‘Jai Maa Dugga’ (Hail Goddess Durga) and the bus moved on. I was only 19 then and I had never worn such a short skirt or dress in my life till then. When Karan Johar and Manish Malhotra showed me that dress for the first time, it was a gown. But by the time he reached the set, he kept getting smaller and smaller. When I saw that dress, I was also scared that how would I wear such a short dress.
‘Cameraman thought it was Chhoti Anjali’s dress’
Rani further tells a very funny thing. She says, ‘When that dress was taken to our cameraman, he said oh this is for baby Sana (Sana Saeed). They could not believe that this is my dress. Sana Saeed played the role of Shah Rukh’s daughter Chhoti Anjali in the film. The film ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ was a super hit at the box office. All the songs of this film were also super hit. Especially the song ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ started playing in every school and college function then.
Kajol said – I would not have moved Rahul, Anjali would have married Aman
In the past, Kajol had said in an interview given to ‘Humans of Bombay’ that if she could, she would never wear a saree for her character in the film. She would show him in track pants and sneakers shoes in the same way. Kajol also said that if the climax of the story had been according to her, Anjali would have ended up marrying Salman Khan’s character Aman and not Shahrukh Khan. However, Kajol also says that the way the film’s story had reached its climax, Anjali’s character had no other option but to marry Rahul.
