Attack: Part One
The first part of the feature film ‘Attack’ on Zee Five proved to be a successful offering to woo the audience. The story of this two-and-a-half hour long film is based on the terrorist attack on the Indian Parliament House on December 13, 2001 in the capital. The protagonist of the film, John Abraham, is depicted as a cyber soldier. This is probably the first experiment on the Indian gazette, when the command of all the movements of a soldier is conducted digitally at the headquarters. The film, made under Pen Entertainment and John Abraham’s own banners, received a high response from the theaters on the OTT platform.
The film stars Prakash Raj, Rajit Kapoor, Kiran Kumar and Ratna Pathak Shah with Jacqueline Fernandez and Rakulpreet Singh. Apart from the exterior of the Parliament House, the interior has been made in sets and rendered mostly with VFX technology. Seeing the cyber soldier, I wish our army could make such a start.
home
The webseries ‘Home’ on ALTBalaji, is a great series on the rough conditions after buying a house in metros today. Generally, the head of a middle or upper middle class family, while buying flats in multi-storey buildings of a metropolis like Mumbai, ignores many important factors, such as the number of floors allowed by the municipal builder to build…etc.
It cannot even be imagined in what form they will have to bear the brunt of this in future. The entire nation saw through the media what happened to the residents of Campacola Society in Mumbai about a decade and a half ago due to some such dangerous negligence of the builder.
Based on this, in the story of the web series Home, hundreds of families who have accumulated a household for a long time in the Artifact Society, suddenly get a shock when the society is accused of illegal construction on behalf of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation. A notice to demolish all the flats comes in front of them.
After all possible efforts like lawyers’ vicious circle to postpone the demolition of the building, political upheaval, media help, finally, the day comes to vacate the flat. One family’s last effort, a positive hearing on the adjournment petition in the Supreme Court, translates into a return of hope, smile on the face.
In this webseries of Ekta Kapoor, apart from Annu Kapoor and Supriya Pilgaonkar, actors like Parikshit Sahni, Himani Shivpuri made it worth watching by doing their respective roles and gave a lesson that care must be taken while realizing the dream of home in life. .
Raikar Case
The second part of the webseries ‘Raikar Case’ presented last year on Voot will soon be in front of the audience. The series weaves an interesting thread of ambition associated with prosperity and fame, within an aristocratic family with a Maharashtrian background. Yashwant Naik Raikar, the owner of a cashew factory, finds himself embroiled in a maze of mystery and allegation of the sudden death of a member of the household because of his claim to the Rajya Sabha.
From Yashwant to the police suspecting the murder of Tarun, son of Yashwant’s late brother Vinayak, revolves around at least six characters and till the end, the mystery of who is the killer can be considered as the specialty of this series.
Atul Kulkarni’s role in Marathi and Hindi films is notable under the direction of Aditya Sarpotdar. Apart from Anushka Sharma’s NH10 hero Neil Bhoopalam, the work of Vaishnavi Kadam and debutante Parul Gulati has been commendable. According to the policy of OTT, the interest and wait of the audience in the second part remains only when the first part remains suspense. Season two of Raikar Case will also be interesting can be expected.
