Bhagavad Gita has been added to the school syllabus in Gujarat. Both support and opposition are being seen on social media regarding this decision. People have linked the teaching of Bhagavad Gita in school with the Hijab issue. People say that when hijab can be banned in schools, why is Gita being taught.
Actor Arun Govil, who played the role of Ram in Ramayana, has also given his opinion on this issue. Taking the help of Twitter, he has questioned those opposing this decision. He wrote, “To speak the truth, an oath is taken by placing one’s hand on the Gita, so why not study the Gita to know the truth? Long live Rama.” People have given different reactions to his tweet.
Replying to this tweet, Goswami Supriya Giri wrote, “So do those who speak the Gita speak the truth? The children of this country do not care about any subject because children are becoming cultureless. So in such a situation, teaching of Gita is fine, but will such children be able to give respect to Gita? It is easy to provoke but the honor policy of the future child has to be given.
A user named Rahil wrote, “That’s all, stay entangled in this everyone. Just keep on being a fool in the name of religion. Don’t say that and build schools and colleges. Infrastructure is good. Never talk about studies and hospital.
While Shashikant Dwivedi wrote, “Gita is the essence of life. There is no textbook to teach that. Truth-finders read the Gita themselves. The Gita is not even a scripture. Still, if you think that it should be included in the curriculum, then why don’t you make this demand from your party? Jai Shri Ram. Prabhat Choudhary wrote, “Very serious idea, I think it should be so.”
For those opposing the Bhagavad Gita, Avantika Rajput wrote, “If you find it political to propagate your religion, please sit down in peace. Wait till the hand of a jihadi reaches your girban. Then you will understand. Hail Lord Rama.”
