Dharmendra Singh, Secretary, Mines and Geology Department, Bihar Government, reached Jamui on Friday and inspected the iron ore area. During this time, DM of Jamui was also present along with the department officials. After inspecting the iron ore site, Dharmendra Singh said that two blocks of magnetite mineral have been found in Sikandra block area. Both the blocks have been identified by the Geological Survey of India and the report has been given to the Government of India by the Government of Bihar. Preparations for the auction of both the blocks by the Bihar government are almost in the final stage. The land at the site is being marked, the land is also being classified as to whether it belongs to the forest department, belongs to the tenant or is government owned. This action is almost in the final stage. Advertisement for the auction process will be issued in the near future after the code of conduct is over next month. Both these blocks have magnetite iron ore reserves of about 45 million tonnes, whose market value today is Rs 2500 crore.
