Suresh Oberoi is counted among the famous actors of his time.
Suresh Oberoi was born on 17 December 1946 in Quetta, British India (in present-day Pakistan) into ‘Vishal Kumar Oberoi’ Hindu Khatri family. After the partition of India, father Anand Sarup reached Hyderabad via Amritsar with Sarup Oberoi and mother Kartar Devi.
Actor Suresh Oberoi used to take more interest in sports than studies. Along with studies, he participated in sports competitions. Suresh has been a champion in many competitions in Tennis and Swimming. Suresh’s childhood was spent in difficulties. But he had a special love for acting when he was studying high school when his father passed away. Despite this, due to his passion for acting, he turned to Mumbai and entered the film world.
Suresh started his career with radio shows, followed by modeling and then made his film debut in 1977 with Jeevan Mukt. He got the opportunity to play the lead character in the film Ek Bar again in the year 1980. However, his film as the main lead did not do much. After this he worked in many other films, after that he worked as a supporting actor in films like Ek Baar Kaho, Suraksha, Duty.
He got a chance to play the lead role in 1980’s Ek Baar Phir. He received the National Award for Best Supporting Role in 1987 for Mirch Masala. He made a different identity in the film world with his best performance. Apart from this, due to his melodious and clear voice, he has also played the role of facilitator in some programs and films, including Ashoka (2001), Zee TV program ‘Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai’.

Suresh Oberoi has also been honored with many awards for the best work. Suresh received a nomination for the Best Supporting Actor Award at the Filmfare Awards in 1982 for the film ‘Laawaris’. After this, he also got a nomination for Filmfare Best Supporting Actor in 1985 for ‘Ghar Ek Mandir’. Suresh was awarded the National Film Award in 1987 for the film ‘Mirch Masala’.
Let us tell you that Suresh Oberoi is married to Yashodhara, who was almost eight years his junior. Suresh is the father of a son and daughter, Suresh’s son Vivek Oberoi is a Bollywood actor, and daughter is Meghna Oberoi.
