Amid rising terrorist activities and cross-border infiltration in Jammu and Kashmir, a high-level security meeting was held in Jammu on Saturday. The meeting was attended by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, along with BSF, CRPF, Jammu and Kashmir Police DGP, heads of intelligence agencies and other senior security officials.
Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi had earlier chaired a meeting that lasted over an hour at the police headquarters. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Saturday assured Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha that the armed forces and security agencies will conduct “coordinated operations” to deal with the growing terrorist activities and maintain peace and stability in Jammu.
After this, almost everyone went to the Raj Bhavan for the second round of the meeting. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level meeting with the Army Chief, heads of various security and law enforcement agencies regarding the security situation. He asked to actively carry out anti-terrorism operations in the Jammu division. The Lieutenant Governor said, “We should launch a careful and well-planned anti-terrorism operation with better coordination between all agencies to eliminate terrorists and those who support them.”
