Health Budget 2024 News: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting the first budget of the third term of the Modi government. During the budget, she has made a big announcement regarding cancer patients. The Finance Minister has said that the custom duty on 3 medicines used in the treatment of cancer will be reduced, which will reduce the price of these medicines. This will directly benefit millions of patients. Apart from this, discounts will also be given on many medical equipment including X-ray machines. This will provide relief to the people.

This is Nirmala Sitharaman’s seventh consecutive budget as Finance Minister. This year the budget is being presented in the monsoon session, because due to the Lok Sabha elections, the interim budget was presented in February. In the interim budget, the Finance Minister had announced to provide cervical cancer vaccine to girls aged 9 to 14 years. Apart from this, in the interim budget, funds were announced to promote research on cervical vaccine in the country itself.
