Gulab Chand Kataria becomes the new Governor of Punjab, Governors of 10 states changed


New Delhi. President Draupadi Murmu has appointed new governors of several states including Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Telangana, Jharkhand and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. A press release issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan said that the President has accepted the resignation of Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Banwari Lal Purohit. Gulab Chand Kataria, who is currently the Governor of Assam, has been appointed in his place.

Sikkim Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya will now be the new Governor of Assam. He has also been given additional charge of Manipur. Om Prakash Mathur has been appointed as the new Governor of Sikkim. C.P. Radhakrishnan will be the new Governor of Maharashtra. He is currently the Governor of Jharkhand. He also has additional charge of Telangana.

Santosh Kumar Gangwar has been appointed as the new Governor of Jharkhand and Jishnu Dev Verma as the new Governor of Telangana. Haribhau Kishanrao Bagde has been appointed as the Governor of Rajasthan, Raman Deka as the Governor of Chhattisgarh and C.H. Vijayshankar as the Governor of Meghalaya. Apart from this, K. Kailashnath has been appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. The release states that all the appointments will be effective from the date they take charge.
