Here at Churchgate railway station, a young man standing on one platform gave a raincoat to his female friend standing on the other platform to protect her from the rain. But this raincoat was given in such a way that the train stopped at the station and there was chaos all around.

He was standing on platform number 2 of Churchgate station in Mumbai waiting for his train. Then he saw that a female friend of his was standing on platform number 3 and she was getting drenched in the rain. To save his female friend from the rain, the young man threw his raincoat with full force towards platform number 3. But what happened… the raincoat got stuck on the bare electric wires above the railway line between the platforms. There was chaos at the station due to the raincoat getting stuck on the bare electric wires. The entire railway administration became alert to prevent any untoward incident. The raincoat was removed from there by stopping the power supply of the railway line. Due to this whole effort, the train service of Mumbai remained halted for 25 minutes. Due to the power supply cut, the trains stopped wherever they were. A large number of police force arrived at the railway station.

After about half an hour the train service could be resumed. Railway police registered a case against the youth and took him into custody. The video of this incident is becoming increasingly viral on social media.

Heavy rains lashed many places in Mumbai on Monday. Local train services were briefly disrupted during peak hours between Kalyan and Thakurli stations due to the rain. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation -BMC claimed that the automatic weather station located in the city recorded more than 200 mm of rain at many places during the 24 hours till 8 am.

The Western Railway said local train services were running normally on Monday morning. However, passengers claimed that trains were running late by 5 to 10 minutes. Central Railway local train services were restored an hour later at around 7.40 am but many trains were running late by 20 to 25 minutes.

Due to heavy rains in Mumbai and suburbs on Sunday, roads in many areas were submerged in water. Flights had to be diverted. Mithi river is in spate due to continuous rain.
