Shimla: Heavy rain is expected in some districts of Himachal Pradesh in the next four-five days. The Meteorological Department has also issued an orange alert regarding this. Himachal Pradesh has received less than normal rainfall so far. According to meteorologists, the monsoon may pick up pace in August. Heavy rain is expected in the next few days.

Heavy rain alert for three-four days

Director of Meteorological Centre Shimla, Surendra Paul said that there is a possibility of increase in rainfall in the state for the next three-four days. The department has issued an alert for this. Four districts of the state, Shimla, Mandi, Kangra and Bilaspur have received normal rainfall, while in the rest of the areas, rainfall has been less than normal.

Monsoon will gain momentum in early August

He said, the least rainfall has occurred in Lahaul Spiti, Sirmaur, Solan and Una. He said that the monsoon will be less effective in July, while the monsoon is expected to pick up speed in the beginning of August. This time there has been a decrease in the western disturbance and the winds coming from the Bay of Bengal. Due to this, the rain in the mountains is decreasing.

Monsoon subsides by the end of July

Let us tell you that the condition of rain in the state is slow right now, but it can pick up pace in the next few days. An alert has been issued regarding this in some districts, especially on 22 and 23 July. However, a decrease in monsoon can be seen again at the end of July. During the last 24 hours, 63.9 mm rain was recorded in Nahan, 48.0 in Kandaghat, 39.5 in Dhaula Kuan, 27.3 in Pachhad and 26..4 mm in Shimla. (Input-IANS)
