New Delhi: An official statement has been issued by the CBI on the investigation so far in the NEET paper leak case. The CBI said that it started investigating the NEET paper theft and leak case from June 23, 2024. The CBI took over FIR number 358/2024 registered at Shastrinagar police station in Patna and started the investigation. The CBI investigation started by taking over the Patna Police FIR registered under sections 407,408,409,120B of the IPC.

These things came out in the investigation

Investigation revealed that the NEET paper was accessed by Pankaj alias Aditya alias Sahil from OASIS School in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand on 5 May 2024, i.e. on the morning of the paper. Pankaj is the mastermind who stole the paper in connivance with the school principal, ANTA coordinator, center superintendent and vice principal. Pankaj was absconding. He was arrested after tracing his location. School principal Ahsanul Haq, vice principal and other associates were arrested by the CBI.

CBI reached Hazaribagh centre through burnt paper

Through the burnt papers in Patna, CBI reached the Hazaribagh centre from where the paper was leaked. The trucks in which NEET papers were brought to the Hazaribagh centre on the morning of 5 May were kept in the centre’s control room. Within a few minutes of the paper’s arrival, the principal and vice principal illegally took the mastermind Pankaj inside the control room. Here the truck was opened with modern tools and the NEET papers were accessed. These tools and the truck were seized.

Papers were given to selected students

The illegally stolen papers were made to be solved by different medical students on the morning of 5th May by the solver gang and were shared with the selected students who had paid money. The solver gang and medical students from different medical colleges were identified and arrested. These solver students were specially brought to Hazaribagh on 5th May, all of them are part of the leak conspiracy.

Pankaj executed the conspiracy

Pankaj planned this crime and prepared a conspiracy. Some more masterminds were identified and arrested. This group was being assisted by another group. They had planned the place for the candidates. A different group was involved in mobilizing the candidates. The students who solved the paper illegally were identified and legal action was taken against them.

36 accused arrested in paper leak case

In the investigation so far, CBI has raided 33 places and arrested 36 accused out of which 15 were arrested by Bihar Police and they are also in CBI custody. CBI’s investigation is going on continuously on day to day basis.
